Christmas at the Farm

Enjoy the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 5th with a visit to the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation. The Plantation’s volunteers and even the farm animals will help get you into a festive mood. There is something for the entire family. Youngsters will enjoy a visit by Father Christmas as well as have the opportunity to make simple Christmas tree decorations, fabric dolls, whizzers, and candles. Father Christmas will visit between 12:00 and 2:30.  Our farm animals will be there and all our welcome to hear Christmas stories in our stable barn.

Adults can enjoy our colonial house dressed for the holidays. Using primarily materials found in nature, the Springfield Garden Club has worked their magic in the farmhouse adding a beautiful backdrop to the day’s activities.  Outdoor greenery greets visitors upon their arrival at the farmhouse, and swags of green with bunches of berries draw attention to the antique furnishings in the parlors.A special “wassailing” to the orchard will take place at 1 and 3:15.The Plantation Store is featuring their annual “end of the season” sale.  Inventory includes colonial toys, quill pens, tricorn hats, redware pottery, textile items, CPP hats and tote bags and more. Don’t forget your shopping list!
